The building/remodel project undertaken by the Andes Central School District is well on its way to completion. The remodel section of the building is complete. The principal's and secretary's offices are housed for the first semester in what will become new middle school classrooms. As elementary students and families enter the building they will see new floor coverings as well as an increased number of display cases lining the hallways. The original gym area now is home to a beautiful PreK-12 library. This space is at the center of the building is is open and inviting for all. All of the walls have been placed in the high school portion of the building. Masons are now working on the hallway link area as well as the wall that will partition off the chiller from the fitness area entrance. Driving by you will see that much of the dirt or the parking lot has been leveled, and drainage pipes are being installed. The fitness area of the building is taking shape as well. Large floor to ceiling windows are installed facing to the west and north of the building. The space adjoins the wrestling/ multipurpose room, and will be easily accessible for patrons. Blue metal panels will be covering the top portions of the gymnasiums, and will be put in place within the next few weeks. Mark your calendars for the open house which will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
