Funeral services for Amber Nelson, 41, of Lake Andes were held Monday, October 14, 2019 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Lake Andes. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Amber Lee was born on February 6, 1978 bringing immense joy to Leah Antelope and Robert Solko at Wagner. She died Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Avera McKennan Hosptial in Sioux Falls.

Amber attended various schools, graduating from Andes Central. In 2001, she graduated from USD Vermillion with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education, majoring in Elementary Education. Amber taught at Marty Indian School and then Andes Central. In her spare time she convinced many to fill their cupboards with Tupperware.

Amber married her love Jim Nelson on June 19, 2004 at Pickstown, SD. They were blessed with one son, Elijah James.

She loved family time, planning celebrations, playing board games, camping and fishing. She was a master organizer and scrap booker. Other hobbies were golfing, gardening, baking, and tending to numerous pets. She was a huge Nebraska Huskers fan. One of her many talents was meeting new friends and making each one feel special.

Amber is survived by her husband Jim; their son Elijah; mother Leah Antelope; father Bob (Kim) Solko of Brookings; dad Steve Lindstadt of Norfolk, NE; brothers Austin Solko (Mary Herrold) of Sioux Falls, Colten Archambeau of Lake Andes, Alan Solko of Spearfish; sister Stacy Solko Punt (Aaron) of Armour; grandma Jodi Demoss of Norfolk, NE; grandpa Dale Demoss of Lake Andes; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins especially Denise Brooks. She adored her niece Karliah and nephew Easton.

Amber joined her beloved grandparents Phyllis Antelope, Hugo and Agnes Solko on October 9, 2019.
