This year’s track season kicks off on their track season after weather related cancellations and postponements Tuesday, April 9th at 2 p.m. at Wagner Red Raider Invite. Their next track meet will be held Saturday, April 11th when they travel to Menno for the Menno Relays.

As this is the second year that the softball program has been offered by Wagner Community School, this is both Samantha and Jessa’s second years coaching and Steven’s first year. Although it is just the beginning of their coaching career for the WCS high school softball team, all three of the coaches have been coaching summer ball for many years and have a vast amount of experience.
Read moreThe Andes Central/Dakota Christian girls’ and boys’ basketball seasons both came to end, unfortunately falling short of qualifying for the state tournament. The teams both fought hard in post-play. The Lady Thunder ended their season after advancing to the SoDak 16 where they played Ethan. The ladies played an incredible game only falling short three points to Ethan. The Thunder ended their season in post-season district play against Tripp-Delmont/Armour with a score of 38-54. Even though their seasons did not end the way they had hoped, the four seniors have some final thoughts on their final basketball season playing for the AC/DC Thunder. The four seniors are Neveah Morgan, Claire Johnson, Anaias White Eyes, and Peter Backes.

Randall is relatively new to the wrestling scene and has only been wrestling for two years. Powersdecidedtostart wrestling after being encouraged by wrestling parents and other wrestlers. During Randall’s wrestling career, he has had a lot of help and inspiration from Travis Tjeerdsma, the father of one of his teammates,Travis,andBradBierema, Powers’ football coach.
Read moreThe Bon Homme/Avon AAU wrestlers had an excellent season and ended their season at the AAU State Wrestling Tournament on March 15th -17th in Rapid City at The Monument. 16 wrestlers qualified for the AAU State Wrestling Tournament and 13 of those 16 came home with medals. Of those 13 wrestlers to bring home medals were two that brought home State Championship titles in their respective divisions and weight classes. They were Thayne and Tucker Tjeerdsma.
