With another political election in the books, (We think!?) the senior government class has been arranging an election themselves. Seniors were randomly grouped into three different political parties: Republican, Democrat, and Constitutional. Each party has a presidential candidate that was randomly picked to be the “face” of their party.

To start her day of right, she eats her favorite breakfast of a roll, toast, or some fruit. Voigt’s fourth grade “favorites” consist of having Baily Lagge as a teacher, getting to do her favorite subject math during the day, and getting to play outside with her friends.
Read moreBrad Poppe, head coach of girls basketball, has set a goal with his 21 players this year to qualify for the girls basketball state tournament. “To do that,” he said, “is to get better each day!” Poppe believes that the girls basketball team’s strengths are the height, length, and speed of girls on the team. He also believes their weakness may be consistency.

Preschool sang “I’m a LittleSanta,”"Ring the Bells,” and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Fifth grade band performed “Merrily We Roll Along,” “Good King Wenceslas,” and “Jolly Old St. Nicholas.” Kindergarten did “Blitzen Boogie,” and firstand second grade sang “Someone’s in the Chimney,” and “Merry Christmas to You from the Red, White, and Blue.” The show ended with third through sixth grade singing “Bring on the Snow!” “Ready, Set, Snow,” “Over the River,” “Game Show Music,” “HOT Chocolate!” “Angels in the Snow,” “Blizzard on the Way!” and “Bring on the Snow!”

The class was divided into two groups, boys and girls, to debate against each other’s opinions. Miss Piggy (girls) and Yoshi (boys) were the representatives for the parties. Instead of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents, the seventh graders split into Girl Power and Boy Power to avoid any controversy stemming from the current presidential election in our country.

We have seniors Allyson Hamilton and Keely Bares, junior Reese Powers, sophomores Kimmy Tolsma and Sarah Swier, and freshman McKenna Kocmich cheering on our boys basketball team this year.
