Read moreJaden’s first competition in over a week took place in Dakota Valley on Tuesday, April 27. Once again, the vaulting conditions were not ideal. The event was delayed for approximately an hour to wait for rain to pass through. When Jaden finally got to vault the evening’s twilight was settling in and with the pole vault set up in Dakota Valley being behind the stands, it was getting quite dark and it had been a long wait. But he cleared 14’ on his first attempt and then skipped to 15’ and cleared that with relative ease as well. His first attempt at 15’6 looked good, but he wasn’t quite able to make it over. The second attempt wasn’t all that close. On his final attempt he dug in and things looked good until his descent when he clipped the bar with. . . well, he wasn’t quite sure. But the bottom line was that the bar came down. Now on to Howard Wood.
