Read moreOn Monday, June 13, Wagner hosted Mt. Vernon-Plankinton for some 14 and 16U action at Hennies Field. The 14U team went down by a score of 11-0. As the score would indicate, there is not much good to report from this game. Javian Pesicka started pitching for Wagner and got little help defensively as MVP would tally four unearned runs in the first frame. He would go on to pitch three innings giving up a total of seven runs, three being earned, on eight hits and a walk while striking out four.

Read moreAvon’s 18U softball team traveled to Scotland on Sunday, June 5 for a doubleheader as part of Scotland Sports Day. In game one Avon unleashed the bats for 11 hits scoring runs in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th innings. Avon was led by Lydia Yost with 3 hits – including a double and 2 RBI. Katie Gretschmann, Sam Brodeen, and Reece Loewe each had 2 hits; with Brodeen and Loewe both having a double and 3 RBI. Emma Yost had a hit and a RBI and Kinley Doom singled in the game. Lydia Yost pitched for Avon, struck out 8, walked 2, and got the win.
