Shirley Jean Hull, 84, of Laguna Niguel, CA, died on January 14, 2026. She was born on September 30, 1941, in Mitchell, the daughter of Jerry and Lorena (Pekas) Soulek. Shirley graduated from Lake Andes High School in 1959, as Class President and Valedictorian. She attended Southern State Teachers College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1962. Shirley received a Masters of Natural Sciences (Math & Physics) from University of South Dakota in 1967. A lifelong learner, she also completed studies in stochastic processes (a specific field of statistics) at the University of California, Irvine.

Roger Wayne Frankenstein, 80, formerly of Dante passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in Florence, South Carolina, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Funeral services are Tuesday, February 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall in Wagner. Burial is in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner.
