He wrote closely observed and deeply empathic slices-of-life with a great sense of humor — but the Russian-Lit-class-version of Dr. Chekhov often overlooks the vitality of his work in the theater. Theater- people like me know him as a playwright, the creative counterpart to the acting teacher Konstantin Stanislavsky, who directed and starred in Chekhov's breakthrough play, The Seagull. Together with the other artists of Moscow Art Theater, Chekhov and Stanislavsky pioneered a new style of ensemble performance, focusing on the whole society, rather than one 'main character.'

Read moreFour Wagner Community School FFA students and their FFA Advisor, Evan Papousek, attended the 2024 National FFA Convention & Expo held in Indianapolis, IN beginning Wednesday, October 23rd through Saturday, October 26th. The convention hosted a plethora of events making sure that there is something to pique everyone’s interests. Some of this year’s events and workshops included competitive events, delegate events, career success tours, a concert, a rodeo, student and teacher workshops, National Days of Service, student showcase stage, hypnotist shows, award recognition ceremonies, various general sessions, and the American Degree ceremony.
Read moreFollowing the building of the Veterans Community Project in Sioux Falls, which is a tiny home community that was built to help aid in the efforts to end Veteran homelessness in the Sioux Falls area, the Yankton Sioux Tribe decided to adopt the same type of mission, to create a Veteran’s tiny home community outside of the Wagner city limits. This community will be built south of Wagner approximately three miles on ten acres of land.
