Marrying a farm kid has shown me the immense amount of pride in being part of the Ag community. It is prevalent that the agricultural profession, while rewarding, is challenging. Running big dollar operations that are both physically and mentally demanding creates some serious strain on our mental health. Whether it’s a co-op employee spraying chemicals or spreading fertilizer for 70+ hours a week or a farmer during planting or harvest, the demand never truly stops.

Tom Culver grew up in Alexandra, South Dakota but has been a staple in Avon for many years. He just wrapped up his 24th year with the Avon School District where he has led as an administrator in the school halls and also as a coach on the high school football field.

Mackenzie Havranek was born and raised in Wagner, graduating from Wagner Community School in 2020. She is currently attending DWU to receive her degree in business. 'It has always been my dream to own a boutique. When Kara presented me with the opportunity to purchase her boutique I was thrilled. I already have many expectations for Lavender Lane Design + Boutique,' she commented. Boutique hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturdays. A grand re-opening is scheduled for July 1st. We hope to see you there!
