Everyone knows what lawn chairs are. In fact, many of people have more than one. They are handy to have and are comfortable to use when no other options are available. It is also fair to say that everyone also knows what a cardboard box is what you can do with them. However, have you ever seen a cardboard box used to make a boat and cross a lake? Have you ever thought about how you might construct a boat out of cardboard if all you had was duck tape? Are you aware that you can go to lots of different places in this country and everyone will know what a lawn chair is or what a cardboard box is and everyone will be able to tell you what they are without hesitation? However, ask the average person what a kolache is and they will probably now have a clue. Do the test yourself to see if this is true? Also ask what all three of these things have in common and see what happens.

Read moreMore than 500 Vietnam veterans, including one from South Dakota, will be inducted into the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund’s (VVMF) In Memory Program in 2022. Since the Vietnam War ended, thousands of Vietnam veterans have suffered due to Agent Orange exposure, PTSD and other illnesses as a result of their service. VVMF believes all those who served in Vietnam should be honored and remembered for their service. The In Memory program enables the families and friends of those who came home and later died the opportunity to have them be forever memorialized.

Read moreA total of 348 students at Mitchell Technical College have been placed on the Spring Semester 2022 President’s List, according to MTC President Mark Wilson. Of these 348 students, 127 earned a 4.0 GPA. High Honors-H2 (3.75-3.99) were awarded to 93 students and 128 students earned Honors-H1 (3.5-3.749). To be named to the list, students must earn a term GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and completed at least 12 credit hours of academic work during the semester.
