Bon Homme Co Izaak Walton League of America trap range is open to the public. Shooting is open every Wednesday at 7:30pm weather permitting. No experience necessary. Not required to shoot every week. You are welcome to shoot one round or as many as you like. Bring your own shells or the club has some available to purchase. Come to the trap range for some fun and socializing. Read moreTwenty-one young shooters completed their Hunt Safe Course at the Bon Homme Co Izaak Walton League Clubhouse and shooting range on Saturday, April 30th. Instructors Mark Rohlfing, Ross Hudson and Jeremy Bruna taught the students about being a safe responsible hunter who is aware of the hunting heritage and who understand the hunter’s role and relationship with wildlife and the land. The instructors highlighted information in the hunting handbook as well, handling a gun. Weather for the day was rain – wind – cold but all participants enjoyed their turn at shooting clay pigeons at the Bon Homme Co Izaak Walton League Trap Range.

Read moreOn April 1, the first graders and Mrs. Kuhlman started incubating their chicks, no “fooling!” Mrs. Benita Kuhlamn said, “We put them in on April Fools day and 28 chicks hatched on Earth Day!” They received their eggs from Michael and Amanda Ratzlaff. Zoey Sassaman said, “We learned that the chicks are very delicate, and we also learned the life cycle of a chicken!”

In January, Loewe applied for the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Scholarship. The opportunity was offered to her by Ms. Saddi Wynia, the school guidance counselor. Essentially, the scholarship requires applicants to type a timed essay. The topic of the essay is unknown to the applicant until it is time to apply. Loewe had two hours to complete the essay and it needed to be a minimum of 500 words.
