The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) Department is reminding hunters heading out for the East River Deer season to be mindful of the wet conditions that exist across much of eastern South Dakota.

The wait is over. AccuWeather’s annual winter forecast for the lower 48 is out. As 2019 comes to a close, an active winter season will get underway for the northeastern United States. The Southeast, however, is more likely to be targeted by rain than wintry weather.

“Almost all people who get influenza vaccine have no serious problems from it,” according to the Centers for Disease Control [CDC]. And, if that doesn’t motivate you to get a flu shot this year, the “CDC estimates that influenza has resulted in between 9.3 million and 49.

In May, Governor Kristi Noem announced that the Wildlife Management Institute (WMI) would conduct an external review of South Dakota’s Wildlife Damage Management and Animal Damage Control programs. As part of the review process, WMI will be conducting two surveys in the weeks ahead.
