10 YEARS AGO

Remodeling of the new Dialysis Center began in Wagner. The class of 1950 gathered for a reunion, in attendance was J.B. Weber, Marlyn Goldhammer, Dick Barta, Tom Stone, Bob Andersh, Viola Andersh, Betty Denker and Ilah Schmieding. The 2015 Boys & Girls Club Youth Football Program season ended, and the winners were the Wagner Super Foods Bears. Wagner Oral Interp competed at Sioux Falls Lincoln, and five students made it to the finals: Nathan Kucera, Krista Dvorak, Chloe Noteboom, Kelsey Barnett and Angel Kindsvogel. Taylor and Sadie Eitemiller qualified for State XC.

20 YEARS AGO

2005

The 2005 Boys & Girls Club Youth Football Program season ended, and the winners were the Casey’s Patriots.

The USD Cougars come back with a victory of 39-0 with Wagner’s Mike Dvoracek racking up 189 of the 517 yards total covered.

30 YEARS AGO

1995

Communities all around came and celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Ducks Unlimited in Wagner with a banquet, auction and committee members adorned in black and silver vests.

Cinderella was performed at the WCS Theatre.

The Lions Club held a pancake and sausage feed at the American Legion Hall for local hunters as well as welcome any out of town hunters for the opening of pheasant season. At Buche Foods bananas were .25/lb, spare ribs were 1.29/ lb, milk was 1.49 a gallon, and a 12 pack of Pepsi was 2.29.

40 YEARS AGO

1985

Roger Flood and Regina Primeaux were elected King and Queen for the Marty Homecoming festivites.

Kathy DeLong and Kevin Giziewski announced their engagement.

45 YEARS AGO

1980

Darrel Zephier the, Marty Indian School boxing instructor, annnounced that teams from Omaha, Sioux Falls and Vermillion would take part in the AAU Sanctioned boxing card set in the old school gym in Marty.

Even though hardly noticeable, the first official snowfall of the year was on October 18th early in the morning.
