Wagner Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 4-1 loss to Bon Homme Varsity on Monday (May 23).
Carter Uecker earned the victory on the mound for Bon Homme. The pitcher surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out ten.
Nolan Dvorak took the loss for Wagner Varsity. The pitcher went five innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out five.
Dvorak, Christian Doom, and Matt Link each collected one hit to lead Wagner Varsity Wagner. Wagner finished the regular season with a 7-3 record in Region 1B. Five players were also recognized for their achievements this year.
Teddy Slaba was an All-Region Honorable Mention Pitcher. Throwing 11 innings with zero walks and an ERA of 2.54.
Keegan McAdaragh was an All-Region Honorable Mention Catcher. The Senior hit .281 including two triples and nine stolen bases.
Matt Link was an All-Region Center Fielder. The Junior hit .286 and stole eight bases while scoring a team high 14 runs.
Dustin Honomichl was selected as an All-Region Pitcher and Shortstop. On the mound, Dustin threw 21 innings striking out 35 batters to an ERA of 2.29. As a hitter, he hit .341 and had a team-high 12 RBI.
Nolan Dvorak was selected to the All-State Second Team as well as All-Region as a Pitcher and Catcher. As a pitcher, Nolan threw 37.1 innings (3rd most in the state), striking out 48 (Tied for 5th most in the state), with an ERA of 1.31 (Fourth best in the State among pitchers throwing a minimum of 20 innings). At the plate, the Senior hit .381 with eight doubles and swiped nine bases.
