South Dakota won.Icould not be prouder of this legislative session and our accomplishments made. South Dakota is the best place to live, especially District 19. Our accomplishments made are better than anywhere in the country. We unanimously passed a sales tax cut that I believe will still allow the state to fulfill our obligations. It is a cut I am comfortable with and the biggest in the history of South Dakota. We accomplished thiscutwhilestillincreasing funding for the core obligations. We increased school funding and state employee wages by 7%, Medicaid providers by 5% and increased the rate methodology to 100%. We have increased funding for nursing homes, provided mental health, suicide prevention programs and so much more.

I had the honor of nominating Charlie Prien, a Hanson School Senior to serve as a legislative page. I thank him for the hard work and admire his ambitions and wish him success in his future endeavors. It has been a long 9 weeks away from my family and I am ready to return home. My husband, Aaron and children: Brayden, Lily and Archer have all stepped up to the plate and accepted this opportunity for mom to serve the people of District 19.
