ARPAN’S DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADS WAGNER PAST ETHAN
Wagner’s varsity boys team made 9 three pointers en-route to a victory over Ethan Tuesday night. The boys started out hot, scoring 24 points in the first quarter and leading 36-32 at half time. Ethan hung around the entire game but could not overcome the big early deficit. Wagner won the game by a final score of 70-59. Ky Arpan had a double double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jesse Zephier scored 19 points, had 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Carlos Galindo scored 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. Michael Koupal scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, Colton Zephier and Payne Petry each scored 3 points, Leon Fields and Jackson Woods scored 2 points a piece. The Raiders are now 4-1.
Wagner JV Beats Ethan
The Wagner JV team got another win Tuesday night in comeback fashion against the Ethan Rustlers. Ethan stormed out to a 12-6 lead after the first period. The Raiders trailed 18-12 at half time before tying the game 24-24 after 3 periods. Wagner outscored Ethan 11-2 in the final period and won the game 35-26. Jakhi Tiger led the team with 20 points, Payne Petry scored 7, Jackson Woods added 3 and Colton Zephier scored 2.
FOURTH-QUARTER SURGE LIFTS RAIDERS PAST BON HOMME
The Raiders improved their record to 5-1 on the season Thursday night with a conference win over Bon Homme. The boys fell behind early, trailing 23-16 after the first period and 39-34 at half time. Wagner erased the deficit in the third period, tying the game at 47 heading into the fourth quarter. The Raiders outscored the Cavaliers 15-7 in the final period and won the game 62-54. Jesse Zephier had a big night, scoring 18 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and had 4 assists and 4 steals. Carlos Galindo scored 15 points, and had 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Michael Koupal had a double double, scoring 12 points and had 11 rebounds. Ky Arpan scored 8 points and had 11 rebounds, Leon fields scored 6 points, and Jakhi Tiger scored 3 points. Wagner will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Winner.
Wagner JV Wins At Bon Homme
The Wagner JV won their third consecutive game Thursday night in Tyndall. The wind didn’t come easy despite Wagner leading 10-2 after the first period and 18-8 at the half. The Cavaliers scored 18 points in the third period, Wagner led 29-26 heading into the fourth quarter. The Raiders made a few shots in the final two minutes and won the game 37-32. Jakhi Tiger led the team with 12 points, Colton Zephier, Avery Medicine Bear, Payne Petry, and Jackson Woods each scored 6 points, Ron Knudsen added 1 point. The Wagner JV will travel to Winner on Saturday.
