HOW TO KISS A GIRL BY WADE BRADFORD AND OZ BY DON ZOLIDIS
By

Wagner High School Theatre Department will be performing two One-Act plays for their Spring Play.

How to Kiss a Girl by Wade Bradford. Ken Beardsley gets ready for his very first date, he decides to download audio advice from across the centuries in order to impress his high school crush, Steph. However, the date quickly spirals out of control as he tries to simultaneously follow dating tips from a communist-fearing nationalist from the 50s, a swashbuckling pirate, a sweet southern belle, and a puritanical pilgrim. Poor Ken realizes that if he really wants to win Steph’s heart, he’ll need to tun out his smartphone and tune in to his own instincts before it’s too late.

Oz by Don Zolidis. Reeling from her sister’s death, Beth suddenly finds herself journeying through a world suspiciously resembling the film The Wizard of Oz. But with the yellow brick road sold to foreign investors after a financial meltdown, the Scarecrow reveling in his ignorant bliss, the Cowardly Lion acting like a paranoid sociopath, and the Tin Man embracing his emotional numbness, Beth wonders what role she plays in this classic story gone awry. A hilarious and heart-wrenching exploration of grief and perseverance on the road to acceptance.

Performances will be Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25 at 7:00pm. During the intermission of Friday’s performance, Mrs. K. Brunsing’s Culinary I class will be selling baked goods for the audience to indulge in. On Saturday, intermission will give the audience an opportunity to purchase flowers candy bars to congratulate the cast and/or crew members.

Director Julie Cartney and assistant director Megan Sheppard invite you to come and support this year’s cast and crew hard work and dedication.
