2015

Plenty of ribbons were awarded to the many Charles Mix County 4-Hers that participated at the South Dakota State Fair. Sydney Dvorak received 2nd place in the Senior Beef Showmanship and Darby Knoll received 5th place in both the Senior Dairy Cattle Showmanship and Dairy Cattle Judging with a score of 361. Placements for the Skill-a-thon Contests were; Beef: Darby Knoll-1st, Dylan Knoll-13th and Amya Swett-18th; Sheep: Darby Knoll-7th; Goat: Darby Knoll-10th; Swine: Darby Knoll-4th and Amya Swett-5th; Overall: Darby Knoll-3rd and Amya Swett-16th.

Homecoming Royalty for 2015 was Queen Nancy Hernandez and King Michael Brugier.

20 YEARS AGO

2005

Andes Central Homecoming Parade Royalty was Jessica Walder, Queen Tina Gau and King Robert Bennett and Logan Hoilien.

The winner of $50 for week 1 of the Lake Andes Volunteer Fire Department Sunday night football contest was Rod Payer.

Craig and Mary Steensland were the publishers of the Lake Andes Wave and JanWoods was the editor.

40 YEARS AGO

Homecoming King and Queen were Chris Carda and Susan Carda.

James B. Carda was a member of the Dakota State College football team.

Doug Kniffen and Jackie Soukup were crowned Homecoming King and Queen.

Lyle Solko and Becky Langel were married.

Junior High Cheerleaders were Nancy Schultz, Denise Gasper, Mary Beth Hakl, Connie Nelson and Rita Solko.

The movie, 'None But The Brave,' was showing at the Fort Randall Autovue Drive-In-Theatre. Admission was 75 cents.

The Delmont Wildcats squeezed by the Lake Andes Eagles 27-25. Defensively for the Eagles it was Ken Hill and Duane Carda.
