Native American Heritage Month is celebrated every November to honor the history, culture, and contributions of American Indian and Alaska Native peoples. Officially designated by President George H.W. Bush in 1990, the month is a time to celebrate diverse traditions, acknowledge achievements, and educate the public about the challenges and injustices faced by Native Americans.
The library is continuing to add to our collection of books written by Native American authors and hope that during this month we will increase the number of patrons checking out what the library has to offer.
