The library will be closing at 3:00 on New Year’s Eve and remain closed on Jan. 1 and 2nd. We wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year in 2021. We will be back open on the 4th of January.

In last week’s article I mentioned that the library is in the process of developing a reading program to take place in January and February of 2021. The promotion is titled “A Blizzard of Books”. It is open to anyone of any age. It does not need to be books checked out of the library. It can be e-books, books you have purchased, a book you want to re-read, a book you read to your children before bed. This program is open to any of the Lake Andes Carnegie Library Patrons. A note will be sent home with Andes Central students the beginning of next week when school re-opens. For a particular number of books read during the promotion period the patron participating will earn an entry in the drawing for a prize. 0-5 years old – 5 books, 6-9 years old-3 books, 10-13 years old -2 books, 14-18 years old- 1 book and 19 years and older 1 book. There will be a grand prize in each of the categories listed above and an entry is earned by reading 10 books during the promotion. If you read 50 books you will have 5 entries in the grand prize drawing. Stop at the library for more information or visit the library Facebook page.
