Dear Editor and Avon Community,
What a wonderful experience it was to attend the twice-postponed All-School Reunion, this past weekend! It is definitely an opportunity for reflecting, remembering, and reconnecting, which we appreciate more, as we grow older.
Growing up in Avon, we all assume that the entire world functions with the same safety, congeniality, neighborly love, and customer service that one finds in a small town like Avon. It doesn’t take very long, after moving away, to realize that’s not true. Having lived in Avon for 1/3 of my life, I would like to think that the work ethic and morals instilled in me early on have stayed with me. I have endeavored to serve my communities, as it was taught and modeled for me, all of those years ago.
While the entire community is to be commended for stepping-up to the enormity of such a celebration, special kudos go to Bridgette, April, Mike, & Whitney for their leadership. Additionally, thanks to all the clubs and businesses that offered their support. I am looking forward to Homecoming 2022, and hope to again see many of you there.
