LADY RAIDERS BATTLE ELK POINT IN TOUGH NIGHT ACROSS ALL LEVELS

LADY RAIDERS RALLY LATE, COME UP JUST SHORT AT ELK POINT
By

The Lady Raiders traveled to Elk Point last Tuesday in a nonconference showdown. The Huskies would come out bombing threes the first half splashing them, banking them, you name it as they would hold a 33-23 lead at the half. They would hit 9 the first half and then not another the rest of the game. Wagner would clamp down on the defensive end and allow only 15 points the second half, but a slow third quarter for the Raiders would stifle any attempt of a come back win as the Raiders would only score 6 points compared to 3 by the Huskies. Wagner would get within a point with about 2:35 left in the game but just couldn’t get a shot to fall. The Raiders would shoot 17-46 from the field for 37% while holding the Huskies to 15-50 for 30%. The Huskies would out rebound Wagner 31-27 grabbing 15 offensive rebounds compared to 9 from the Raiders. Wagner would shoot 7-14 from the charity stripe while EPJ would go 9-16. Ashlyn Koupal would lead all scorers with 23 points, 16 boards, 4 blocks, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Braxton Nedved would score in the double digits with 12 points and dish out 2 assists. Hannah Holzbauer would finish with 6 points, 2 rebounds, and dish out 2 assists. Ravyn Medricky would be the last Raider to score with 5 points, 5 boards and 2 steals. Hayden Knudsen would dish out 3 assists and come away with 3 steals.
