PROVERBS 28:20 'A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh to be rich shall not be innocent.'(KJV) PROVERBS 13:11'Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labor shall increase.'(KJV) PROVERBS 23:4 'Labor not to be rich: ease from thine own wisdom.'(KJV) 1 TIMOTHY 6:9 'But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.'(KJV) These Scriptures are telling us that if we spend all our days determining how we can gain wealth or any thing else for ourselves, will eventually lead us into vanity attaining them for our own pleasure-- but will never be enough,,trying to get more, better, bigger things for ourselves.
The truth of the matter is if we do successfully gain all these things of pleasure for ourselves, we will not take them with us when we die. So all that work trying to please ourselves is not worth working so hard to get.
So for a righteous person's desires should be seriously determine what can be done during his lifetime to build up treasures and blessings toward the Lord that will be accounted toward him when he gets to heaven. Our Scriptures tell us that where our treasure is there will out heart be also. If our treasure is only on Earth-- then our heart will be Earthy. If our treasures are built in heaventhen our heart will be heavenly.
Doing things for ourselves only will be temporary at best.
Doing things for the Lord will be blessed now and rewarded for them in the here after.
It is a no brainer which we should be spending our time and effort on.
Scripture tells us--what-soever ye eat, or drink, or do, do for the Glory of God. and be blessed now and later.
Are you spending all your time on things or working for blessings?
