Just Thought I'd Ask

HAVE YOU COMMITTED YOURSELF
By
Submitted By Dr. James Schirtzinger, D.d. Pastor/founder Of The Grace Baptist Church, Lake Andes Since 1988

PSALM 31:5 " Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth."(KJV)

PSALM 31:9 "Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear ( love ) thee: which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men."(KJV)

We can realize what David is saying in PSALM 31:5 by recalling what he did when we were saved. ( If you have been saved ) we committed our spirit to the Lord. We promised to remove out thoughts and actions from the sinful lifestyle we were in and committed ourselves---life, soul, and spirit unto the Lord. Attempting by His grace and the leadership of the Holy Spirit to live our life according to God's Will.

That is the least we can do since He gave His life for us.

We are to read our Bible, study it, attend Church regularly to hear God's Word preached and explained for us. Take the Word of God seriously and live by it.

PSALM31:9 is bringing out all the good things that are promised to those who love Him and serve Him. He has promised our sins punishment is forgiven and forgotten by Him when He saved us. He has promised eternal life with Jesus in Heaven---forever.

Our Bible tells us that heaven is so much greater than we can imagine in our finite minds. But tells this that our eyes have never seen the beauty of what we will see in heaven, our ears have never heard the wonderful sounds that we will hear there. And because heaven is so great it is impossible for us to even imagine all the wonderful things that will be there. Being in the presence of Our Lord and Savior and the joy that that causes is beyond our imagination.

All these things are ours because we have placed our trust and faith in Him.

But always remember---we do not deserve these gifts of God--But they are ours only because we have committed ourselves unto the Lord, to serve Him well.

Have you committed yourself to Him?
