Greer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting November 29, 2020 at the Post Home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Chaplain Donald Kotab gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members.

Adjutant Rados read the minutes of the October meeting, which were approved as read.

Committee reports were given as follows:

Dan Gruenwald distributed a financial report for the month of October to members, which was approved as given.

Americanism: Don Kotab reported that the Oratory Contest has been canceled. Boy’s State and Youth Trooper Academy is still on.

Commander Kucera reported no Bingo.

Service Officer: Merle Stone gave sick call and relief.

Vice Commander Dennis Clemens reported Ron Kaylor will have surgery November 24th for cancer in Sioux Falls. Our prayers go out to him.

Jerry Seiner reported the copays on COVID were forgiven, but now you will have to pay. National Parks are free to all Veterans with a Veterans Card entire car gets in for free. Travel pay will need a voucher until the beginning of the next year. Then they will go online.

A motion was made to have Legion meetings at 7 p.m., for the rest of the winter, all approved.

Mid Winter Conference will be February 19 to 21 in Oacoma. Will the city have the Parade of Lights? Annual Sweepstakes will be February 27.

Chaplain Kotab gave the final prayer.

The meeting was adjourned in due form.
