FAST START FUELS LADY RAIDERS’ 68–25 WIN AT BON HOMME

The Lady Raiders traveled to Tyndall to take on the Bon Homme Cavaliers last Thursday night in girls basketball action. The Raiders would race to a 30-5 lead after the first quarter and finish with a 68-25 win. Wagner would shoot 29-46 for 63% while Bon Homme would shoot 10-43 for 23%. Wagner would out rebound the Cavaliers 34-14. The Raiders would dish out 22 assists. For Wagner, Ashlyn Koupal would lead all scorers with 20 points, 10 rebounds, dish out a game high 8 assists, block 3 shots and come away with 3 steals. Hayden Knudsen would tally 14 points, and also post 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 rebounds. Braxton Nedved would finish with 9 points and dish out 4 assists. Mateya Bruguier would add 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Ravyn Medricky would chip in 6 points, grab 4 boards and 2 steals. Hannah Holzbauer would tally 4 points, 2 boards, and dish out 6 assists. Peytyn Wiechmann would chip in 4 points and Clarah Soukup two points. “We did an excellent job of running the floor. We got to get a good mix of our younger players with starters. Defensively we did a great job on the glass limiting them to 1 shot. Just need to keep improving. Next week will be a big week for us!” Slow Start, Strong Finish for JV Lady Raiders

The JV would come away with a 32-23 victory. Clarah Soukup would lead all scorers with 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Peytyn Wiechmann would follow with 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals, and an assist. Valencia Big Bear would finish with 4 points while TyShay Medicine Bear would add 3. Olivia Podzimek and Raeyon Fool Bull would each tally 2 points. Olivia would grab 2 boards. Camry Link would round out the scoring with 1 point and 3 boards. “It took a quarter and a half for us to get going. It is challenging at times to play at our expected level when you play someone that might not be. Once we started playing full speed we were getting it done on both ends of the court.”
