Elected this year was Governor Mickelson, Sen. Pressler and Congressman Tim Johnson. Frank Kloucek was elected. Sheriff Lyle O’Donnel won easily.

JOLLY ROGER— BB Cheerleaders were elected. Varsity: Carleen Premus, Nicole Ferwerda, Tina Hlavac, and Melissa Powers. Jr. Varsity: Christina Tjeerdsma, Tricia Hento, Tracy Odens, and Andrea Van Asperen.

A Halloween Costume Dance was held after the game. First place in costumes were Krissy Mensch and Nicole Ferwerda.Winner of the lip sync contest was Reno Hamilton.. All State Chorus members were Wanda DeJong, Nicole Ferwerda, Ross Romkema, and Mike Voigt.

Volleyball started in a Round Robin Tourney held in Alcester. Avon came in 6th place. In the Districts, Avon won over Lake Andes, lost to Wagner, won over Lake Andes, won over Marty, and lost to Wagner. In the Regions, Avon lost to Elk Point and Alcester.
