The Pirates lost 14-12 in Andes. The girls won in OT in Freeman. Jennifer Winkler scored 30 and had 9 rebounds. The girls have changed their name to the Lady Pirates.
Jim Stimpson was named the new manager at the Farmer's Coop elevator.
The school band traveled to Armour to march in the Homecoming Parade and attend a BBQ and then played at the Football game.

Avon Horsemen were winners at the Wagner LAbor Day Parade. Winning were Jim Knoll, Jim Greenfieldk Don Sternhagen. Steve Sternhagen won in the Jr. Horse and Rider Class.
Graveside rites were held for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stoebner on Sept. 12th.

John T. Campbell died at the hoome of the daughter, Mrs. J.C. Greenfield. He was 74 and the head of the Avon German Bank.
