In her first competition in a year, Britney Rueb claimed the 135-pound championship at the Floyd Farrand Girls Wrestling Tournament at Sioux Falls Lincoln on December 29. Hope Kemnitz-190 took second, and Sydney Johnson-115 placed fifth. Four BHSA girls competed: Sydney Johnson-115 was 4-2 on the day as she won by fall over Aurora Hammer (SF Lincoln) in 2:57, lost by fall to Dayani Long (SF Washington) in 1:44, won by fall over Elly Murphy (Dell Rapids) in 1:30, won by fall over Madelyn Haisch (Beresford/Alcester-Hudson) in 1:36, lost by technical fall to Destinee Wagner (Harrisburg) in 3:00, and won by fall over Addie DeJong (Kingsbury Co.) in 2:21 for fifth. Charlie Faehnrich-120 lost to Macie Miller (Garretson) by fall in :51, and to Cadence Bochek (Clark/Willow Lake) in :41. Britney Rueb-135 won by fall over River Respect Nothing (Lakota Tech) in :39, won by fall over Jude Miller (SF Jefferson) in 1:07, won a 12-11 decision over Naomi Miller (Clark/Willow Lake) after trailing 7-0, and in the championship won a 6-3 decision over Reese Olson (Beresford/AlcesterHudson). Hope Kemnitz-190 had a bye, won by fall over Lillian Penn (SF Roosevelt) in 1:18, won by fall over Jade Dubbelde (Harrisburg) in :28, and in the championship lost by fall to number-one rated Allison Konrad (Watertown) in :43. Canton won the tournament with 247.5 points, followed by Watertown-193.5, Brandon Valley-153, Brookings-134, Harrisburg-107.5, Sully Buttes-88.5, Sioux Falls Lincoln-86, Beresford/Alcester-Hudson-79, Lakota Tech-69, Kingsbury Co.-67, Sioux Falls Washington-67, and Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon-65 for 12th place of 27 teams.
