With three champions, one second, and one fifth the Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon girls scored 134 points, good enough for second at the McCook Central Montrose Tournament on January 2. Standing on the top step were Harper Kracht-125, Hadlee Kracht-130, and Britney Rueb-135, with Hope Kemnitz-190 runnerup, and Sydney Johnson-115 placing fifth. Watertown won with 182 points, followed by Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon-134, Clark/Willow Lake109, Sioux Valley-105, Madison-97.5, Sioux Falls Lincoln-85.5, Yankton-82, Mitchell-79.5, Sioux Falls Washington-72.5, and Kingsbury County-70 for the top ten teams out of 37. Sydney Johnson-115 won by fall over Dayani Long (SF Washington) in 3:46, lost to runner-up Alexis Bryant (McCook Central/Montrose) by fall in 1:38, won by fall over Remington Edwards (Todd Co./White River) in 2:22, won a 12-9 sudden victory in overtime over Chloe Caton (Yankton), lost by fall to Frankie Kranz (Mitchell) in 1:20, and won by medical forfeit over Aubrey Jensen (Viborg-Hurley/Irene-Wakonda) for a fifth place finish. Charlie Faehnrich-120 lost by fall to Kennley Sedlacek (Burke/Gregory) in 1:16, won by fall over Rachel Unruh (Kingsbury Co.) in :44, and lost by fall to Adrienne Fast Horse (Todd Co./White River) in 1:47. Harper Kracht-125 won all four matches by fall: over Bayleigh Prue (Todd Co./White River) in :19, over Selma Nelson (Clark/Willow Lake) in 1:48, over Marlie Whitaker (Mitchell) in 1:48, and in the championship over Payden Coughlin (Kingsbury Co.) in 1:58 for first. Hadlee Kracht-130 won all four matches by fall: over Maesyn Yonker (Sioux Valley) in 1:06, over Layla Crowe (Kingsbury Co.) in :25, over Izy Bendorf (Kingsbury Co.) in :32, and in the championship over Olivia Kolbrek (SF Washington) in 1:12 for first. Britney Rueb-135 won by fall over Jude Miller (SF Washington) in :50, won by fall over Jocelyn Thoms (Lennox) in :43, won by fall over Jocelyn Rumpca (Webster) in 5:17, and in the championship won a 13-0 major decision over Naomi Miller (Clark/Willow Lake) for first. Bailey Kemnitz-140 lost to eventual champion Brooke Grajczyk (Watertown) by fall in 1:21, won by fall over Lexis Moe (Madison) in 1:52, and lost by fall to Miley Janak (Burke/Gregory) in 1:53. Hope Kemnitz-190 had a bye, won by fall over Trinity Small (Canistota) in 1:00, won by fall over Rayna Miller (Viborg-Hurley/Irene-Wakonda) in 2:49, and lost in the championship to top-rated Allison Konrad (Watertown) in 1:02 to finish second.
