THE AVON YOUTH BASEBALL SEASON WRAPS UP

By

WEE PEES

The 2022 Wee Pee Baseball season has now ended. The boys did such an amazing job this year with so many improvements and gains. We officially ended our season this Saturday, June 25th in Avon, as we hosted 14 teams from neighboring towns at the Avon ball fields. The boys won their first game against Springfield, but lost their second to Tabor ending the tournament play. The Wee Pee's season record was 12-3. The All-Star games which are to be held Tuesday, July 5th in Springfield starting at 5pm will host two players from all 14 teams. The two players chosen to represent our Wee Pee's are: Hudson Sees and Daxton Fathke. Congratulations to these players for being selected. Again, Coaches Joe Sees and Whitney Podzimek would like to say thank you to all the boys this year for their hard work, dedication and willingness to come out to the ball fields and hustle every single time. We are both very proud of our Avon Wee Pee boys!

PEE PEES

The Pee Wee 2022 Baseball season came to an end this past Thursday, the 23rd in Scotland as we played against Menno for the tournament play. The boys had a great season with being able to adapt to many changing positions and taking on different roles throughout the time. We were able to see a lot of growth happen this season; which is what coaches want first and foremost. The Pee Wees record was 4-7 for the season. The All-Star games are being held in Springfield, Tuesday, July 5th following the Wee Pee All-Star game. The two players to represent the Pee Wee team from Avon are: Zander Fathke and Colt Wolf. Congratulations to these players for being selected. Coaches Joe Sees and Whitney Podzimek would like to say thank you to all the boys who made this season fun and exciting. You all worked hard, played as a team, and grew a lot this year. We are both very proud of our Avon Pee Wee boys!

MIDGETS

The Avon Midgets finished their season with an overall record of 6 wins and 7 losses. The team went into the tournament as the #6 seed and came back from behind to beat Springfield in round 1 (10-7) but lost to a really good Wagner team in the 2nd round (10-0).

Coach Ted Wonnenberg said "This was a very fun group of players for me to coach. They played hard and had fun as a group on the field all season long."

For the Avon Midgets, Easton Sees and Weston Bierema have been chosen to go to the All-Star game on July 5th in Springfield.
