(HOWARD, SD) – Horizon is pleased to announce Ashton Mednansky, MSW, LCSW, QMHP, has joined the staff of Horizon’s Behavioral Health team and will see patients remotely throughout the organization’s 28,000-mile footprint. Prior to joining the Horizon staff, Mednansky worked for three years as a mental health therapist at Southern Plains Behavioral Health. She received her post-secondary education at Mount Marty University in Yankton, South Dakota; and Walden University respectively. Her degrees include a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services and a Master of Social Work. She received an award from Mount Marty upon her graduation for exemplifying the core value of community. Along with being a licensed social worker, she is a certified clinical trauma professional. She has specializations in EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Brain-spotting, IFS, and is a licensed foster parent. She is a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society. “I chose this profession because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives and help them feel less alone in their struggles,” Mednansky said. “I believe everyone has the capacity for healing, and I wanted to be part of that process. Trauma can impact every part of a person’s life, and my goal is to create a safe space where people feel seen, supported and empowered to move forward.” In her free time, Mednansky loves to travel. She recently returned from a two-week vacation to Italy. She has also visited Aruba, spent time in Haiti for service trips, toured Mexico several times, and traveled to Canada, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. She has visited most of the 50 states. Her family includes her partner Hunter and their dog Bernie. Thank you for trusting Horizon Health with your behavioral health needs.
