Verdell Yellow Horse, III Cánte El’ Yuza Peta Sunka Wankanzi “Carries Fire In the Heart” Sungzi Ohitika “Yellow Horse Brave”

Funeral services were Thursday, June 4 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Marty. Burial was in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Verdell Yellow Horse was brought into the world on December 31, 1984 by mother Rodrica Joan Rouse and father Verdell Jake Yellow Horse in Wagner. He died Saturday May 30, 2026 at his home in Marty.

Verdell is survived by sons: Lawrence, Liam, and Lawson, whom he held close to his heart; brother Wilbert Yellow Horse, his protector; sisters: Heather Nadine Rouse, Rosemary Rose Rouse, Morissa, Jenna, and Jaimie; and his girlfriend Suzette Brave Eagle.

Our brother had a lot of hobbies, he enjoyed making art and things for his family. One thing he really enjoyed was working with the Buffalo, his smile could light up the room; his laugh was contagious.

Verdell was preceded in death by grandparents Du-Wayne and Rose Mary Rouse and Wilbert and Delphine (Two Bulls) Yellow Horse; brothers: David Rouse, Derek Weston, Schyler Swan; and sisters: Christine Yellow Horse and Jessica Yellow Horse.

Verdell is survived by his mother Rodrica Joan Rouse and his father Verdell Jake Yellow Horse and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and grandbabies.
