SENIORS RECOGNIZED AT HOME MEET

The Wagner Cross Country team held their local cross country meet on Monday, September 16, in Pickstown. It was another hot day for the runners and they gave it their all. Again, several of our runners came in and medaled among the top ranking runners.

WAGNER C TEAM FALLS TO WESSINGTON SPRINGS

The Wagner C team traveled to Wessington Springs on Monday, September 16th. The Lady Red Raiders lost 0-2 in a tight match with scores of 23-25 and 24-26. Ty’Shay Medicine Bear led all hitters with 4 kills while Taeya Havranek and Camry Link each had 2.

LADY RED RAIDERS DEFEAT THE PIRATES IN 4 SETS

The Wagner Volleyball team hosted the Avon Lady Pirates on Tuesday, September 17th. The scores of the match were 22-25, 25-23, 25-29 and 25-22. Sophomore Ravyn Medricky led all attackers with 16 kills. Hannah Holzbauer added 14 along with Brylie Link and Braxton Nedved each earning 7 apiece.

KILLER TOMATOES TAKE SECOND AT STATE

Wagner residents, Hunter Hewitt and Grant Doom took their amateur league baseball skills and joined the Platte Killer Tomatoes team for their 2024 summer season.

LADY PIRATES EARN THE WINS AT HOME

Avon hosted Alcester/Hudson on Thursday, September 12 and took the win 3-0. Serving leaders were: Brielle Voigt with 4 aces and Rilyn Thury with 2 aces. Kill leaders were: Lila Vanderlei with 15, Thury with 5 and Lexi Vanderlei with 4.

PIRATES DEFEAT JAGUARS 54-20

Avon football field was filled with red for Avon Homecoming Friday night, even the dogs came to support their Pirates! The first quarter found Aziah Meyer in the end zone scoring 3 touchdowns.

September 9 - Scotland JV races (4k) Aspen Niewenhuis (2nd - 19:57.89, LaTia DeLange (13th - 22:00.66), Scarlett Cole (17th 23:21.43), and Carmela Gravatt placed 3rd as a team in the JV race behind Platte-Geddes and Chamberlain. James Derry - 21:11.
