The Red Raiders fell 13 to 29 on Friday to Wessington Springs. Although going into half tied 13 all, the Raiders were not able to put togeth-er any points in the 2nd half. Offensively for the Raiders, Carlos Galindo was 8-15 with 66 passing yards.

The Wagner volleyball team traveled to Sioux Falls to compete in the Pentagon Tournament. In pool play the Red Raiders first faced the Howard Tigers and picked up the win with scores of 25-20 and 25-10.

On Thursday, September 26th the Lady Red Raiders took on the Wildcats from Kimball/ White Lake and lost in four sets. Scores from the match were 2517, 20-25, 22-25, and 22-25. Hannah Holzbauer led the attack racking up 14 kills while Ravyn Medricky added 10 and Brylie Link had 5.

The Wagner Volleyball team traveled to Tyndall on Tuesday, September 24th to take on the Cavaliers. Wagner came away with the win with scores of 2725, 25-16, 19-25, and 25-13. Sophomores Ravyn Medricky and Braxton Nedved led up at the net each throwing down 12 kills.

The Lady Pirates traveled to Scotland on September 19 where they earned the big win 3-0. Leading the attack was Lila Vanderlei with 21 kills for the night, Rilyn Thury had 9 and Lexi Vanderlei added 4. Lexi Vanderlei also had 2 blocks on the night.

Avon Pirates traveled to Colome Friday night, where they dominated, taking the win 72-6. Aziah Meyer played a great first quarter with 3 touchdowns, a 49-yard run with 2-point conversion, a 27-yard run with 2-point conversion and a 34 yard run with 2-point conversion.

John Fathke has been a part of the cross country team since 6th grade. John Fathke is the son of Jed and Maureen Fathke, and the brother of Jack Fathke. When we asked John how he feels about this being his last homecoming he replied, “pretty good.

Devin Rucktaeschel is a guard and defensive tackle for the Avon Pirates. He is a senior and his time at AHS is nearly over. Devin was looking forward to winning the homecoming game. He hopes the Pirates take this season “All the way!” One of Devin’s hype songs is Enter Sandman by Kirk Hammett.

The Lady Thunder traveled to Scotland September 17 where they took the win 3-0. Halle Olson had 7 kills, Mahpiya Irving had 6, Josie Brouwer, Madilyn Janis and Audrey DeHaan each had 5 and Madeline Derry had 2. Irving and Olson each had an ace block.
