In an exciting turnout of student-athletes wanting to wrestle this year for the Andes Central Thunder team which went from last year’s three wrestlers to this year’s eight team members is quite an improvement, so much so that the wrestlers are this year practicing on their own mats at Andes Central.

The Wagner Red Raider wrestling team began their season with a triangular in Avon against Bon Homme/ Avon and Vermillion. Their next upcoming meet will be Thursday, December 12th in Winner against Winner/ Gregory.

This year the Wagner-Bon Homme gymnastics team is led by Head Coach Cherie Petry who has been coaching for 22 years. Petry will be assisted by CJ McNinch, who is in her first year of coaching. This year’s team only has four high school members, none of which are seniors.

The 2024-2025 Red Raider girls’ basketball team will be coached by Head Coach Mike Koupal with Assistant Coaches Hunter Hewitt, Tera Koupal and Courtney Baumgart. Coach Koupal has been coaching for the past 18 years.

Head Coach for the Red Raider boys’ basketball team for the 2024-2025 season is Josh Davies. He is assisted by Riley Kirwan and Sam Matzke. This is Davies’ 21st year of coaching.

The All-State Chorus quartet, which consisted of Emery Bultje, Madilyn Janis, Exavian Aungie-Baker and Steven Nielsen, traveled to Sioux Falls on October 31. The students had two days of intense rehearsals preparing for the concert held at the Denny Sanford Center on November 2.
