Avon traveled to Hurley on Tuesday, January 21 where they played a great game but as the final buzzer sounded, found them down 46-52 to bring their record to 6-5. Rilyn Thury and Lila Vanderlei were the players in double-digits with Thury sinking 15 and Vanderlei 14.

Avon hosted Andes Central/ Dakota Christian on Thursday, January 23 where they took the win 48-38. Rilyn Thury was the lone player in double-digits with 22 points.

PIRATES TAKE THUNDER INTO OVERTIME

A last second shot at the buzzer had the Pirates tied up with Andes Central/Dakota Christian in their matchup Thursday night. This was a battle throughout and both teams deserved to win but at the end of the overtime buzzer, the Pirates found themselves down 60-65.

BUSY WEEK FOR BHSA GIRLS

It was a busy but successful week for the Bon Homme/ Scotland/Avon girls wrestling teamastheywererunner-upat BattleCreek(January20),third at Pierre (January 24), and first at Chamberlain (January 25).

AC/DC SUFFERS LOSS TO PIRATES

Andes Central/ Dakota Christian traveled to Avon last week to take on the Avon Pirates where they suffered the tough loss 38-48. Mahpiya Irving and Josie Brouwer were players in double- digits with Irvin scoring 15 and Brouwer 14.

WAGNER C TEAM GIRLS

The C team would be defeated 29-6. Clarah Soukup would have 3 points, Peytyn Wiechmann 2 and TyShay Medicine Bear 1 point.

LADY RAIDERS BASKETBALL ACTION

The Lady Raiders traveled to Parkston last Thursday in girls basketball action to take on their SESD conference foe! What a battle it would be from start to finish. Parkston would jump out to an early 15-10 lead.
