Rog's Rod & Nimrod Back in 2014, just after returning from a hunting-fishing trip in the Caprivi Strip area of Namibia Africa, I predicted that Botswana would one day reopen the sport hunting of big game on public lands that it had shut down.

School is back in session, which means so is Congress. I spent the last six weeks in South Dakota for the summer in-state work period. I’ve said it before – I don’t think Congress needs a six-week break. We have work to do in Washington. However, my time spent in the state was valuable.

People don’t like talking about tough things – things that make us uncomfortable or sad. Things that make us feel small. Things that are heartbreaking. Suicide is one of those things. Suicide means a family learning to livewithoutamom, dad, brother, or sister.

HOW IS IT GOING FOR YOU? PROVERBS 27:20 : Hell and destruction are never full: So the eyes of man are never satisfied."(KJV) The second half of this verse brings out a description of many people today. People are not satisfied with what they have, but are always trying to get more.

In 40 years of practice, I have seen how the final moments of one’s life can be inspiring or agonizing, no matter the manner of death. As I see it, the fear of death is a greater enemy than death itself. This has brought me to make the following recommendations for approaching our final moments.

Rog's Rod & Nimrod A recent regional tabloid has taken a negative shot at our South Dakota Outdoors. In the August 9, 2019 issue of Wisconsin Outdoor News, Tony Peterson’s “Commentary” did just that. Tony, a Wisconsinite who admittedly loves to archery hunt South Dakota deer, sees a problem.

As a farmer and rancher, I would be thrilled to get a new crop into the hands of our producers, especially as our ag markets struggle. A new source of revenue for farmers would be great. But industrial hemp is not the answer. Legalizing industrial hemp legalizes marijuana by default.
