Senator Tim Johnson was here and participated in the ground-breaking ceremony for the Wagner Veterans Clinic.
The Wagner Post and the Wagner Rotary worked together to help collect "Clothes for Kids" program for the local Wagner Community School. Kathleen, Sidney and Jacqueline Juffer and Xavier Sully all qualified for the AAU Jr. Olympics in Des Moines, IA. Boy Scout Troop 261 attended the 2009 Merit Badge University in Grand Island, NE. Those who went were John Drews, Bryce Weiss-er, Timmy Thaler, Michael Kokesh, Jacob Kvigne, Logan Foster, Jordan Drews, Drue Soukup, Jacob Kucera and Luke Foster.
20 Years Ago - 1999
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) celebrated its 100th year in existence. The VFW began in August of 1899. Jody VanDuysen was crowned the 1999 Tripp County 4-H Rodeo Sr. Queen.
Local Wagner teachers, Sue Isebrands and Lisa Tolliver completed Technology Training to integrate technology into the Learning and Teaching process.
SEE PHOTO Boy Scouts Tripp 261 Camped at North Point Recreation area for three nights of learning. They were taught how to make rope, built rafts and did an eight-mile hike. Those who pars ticipated were: Nick Andal, Duncan and Jared Anderson, Steve Cotton, Matt Hill, Cody Horner, Matt Ishmael, Dustin McAdaragh, Shane Melton, Caleb and Sam Metzger (who submitted their news to the paper), Andrew Nordquist, Scott Seiner, Matt Soukup, Aaron and Jason Von Eschen, Josh Wiechmann and James Zolnowsky.
