WIN OVER COLOME BRINGS PIRATES RECORD TO 5-0

Avon Pirates traveled to Colome Friday night, where they dominated, taking the win 72-6. Aziah Meyer played a great first quarter with 3 touchdowns, a 49-yard run with 2-point conversion, a 27-yard run with 2-point conversion and a 34 yard run with 2-point conversion. Also scoring in the first quarter was Treyvan Talsma with a safety, Trent Soukup with a 49 yard run and 2-point conversion and Devin Rucktaeschel with a 5 yard run and 2-point conversion to end the first quarter 42-6. The second quarter Grayson Ratzlaff had a 26 yard touchdown run with 2-point conversion, Pierce Jonkers had a 72 yard touchdown run and a 15 yard touchdownrun with a 2-point conversion with Brenson Ratzlaff ending the first quarter with a 83 yard touchdown run with 2-point conversion to give the Pirates the win 72-6. Meyer led the rushing with 110 yards, Jonkers and Brenson Ratzlaff each had 87, Soukup had 49 yards, Grayson Ratzlaff 26 yards, Rucktaeschel 10 yards and Tolsma 8 yards. Talsma led the defense with 3 tackles and 3 assists; Dominic Doom and Braylon Fathke each had 2 tackles and 2 assists, Soukup had 1 tackle and 2 assists, Randall Powers had 1 tackle and 3 assists, Weston Bierema had 1 tackle and 3 assists, Lance Odens had 1 tackle and 1 sack. Congratulations Pirates on another big win. The Pirates has a bye this week but will be back on the field Friday, October 4 at Armour as they face off against Andes Central/Dakota Christian, Tripp/Delmont/Armour with kickoff at 7 p.m.
