The Wagner volleyball team traveled to Scotland on October 8th to face the Highlanders. The Lady Red Raiders came away with the win in three straight sets with scores of 25-22, 25-13, and 25-11.
Hannah Holzbauer led the attack racking up 8 kills while Ravyn Medricky earned 7, Brylie Link added 6 and Mateya Bruguier had 5. Sophomore setter Braxton Nedved dished out 23 assists in the win. Holzbauer led all servers tallying 28 points/7 aces while Medricky added 7 points/2 aces and Nedved had 6 points/1 ace. Libero Libby Kotab led the defense picking up 11 digs, Medricky added 10, and Holzbauer had 9. Medricky had 2 blocks and Link added 1.
The JV earned another win with scores of 25-10 and 25-22. Ashtyn Bruguier and Adara Hopkins each had 5 kills while Mateya Bruguier added 3. Kylin Insko dished out 8 assists and Mila Hopkins had 5. Insko led all servers with 12 points/8 aces, A. Bruguier added 5 points/5 aces, and A. Hopkins had 5 points. In the back court, libero Hayden Knudsen, scrapped for 10 digs while A. Hopkins, M. Hopkins, and Insko all picked up 4 apiece. Up at the net Emma Kreeger put up 1 solo block.
The C team picked up a nice win with scores of 25-19 and 25-17. Tegan Langdeux led the attack with 5 kills, Ty’Sahy Medicine Bear and Eva Kjeldgaard each added 4, and Taelyn Knebel had 3. Camry Link tallied 8 assists while Bella Kotab added 4. Knebel led all servers tallying 9 points/5 aces while Izzy Myer added 7 points/2 aces and Medicine Bear had 6 points/2 aces. Kendra Van-Duysen and B. Kotab each picked up 5 digs in the win.
Wagner will host Parkson on Tuesday, October 15th for the annual Dig Pink match. Come out for a great cause and enjoy watching some volleyball. Crumbl cookies will be sold, a Dig Pink basket will be raffled, pizza serving game will take place and all proceeds will be going to our local cancer foundation. Wagner will be honoring teacher and friend of our team Stacy Fousek that night.
