WAGNER RED RAIDERS VICTORIOUS OVER TROJANS

Wagner Varsity Red Raiders secured the win over the Parkston Trojans, 6-5 on Thursday 5/1 at Wagner.

Parkston got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run.

Parkston added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Wagner Varsity Red Raiders dropped a third strike, and Ali Moke walked, each scoring one run.

Wagner Varsity Red Raiders flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 6-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Shania Perdue that drove in one.

Mara Wright stepped in the circle first for Wagner Varsity Red Raiders. The pitcher surrendered three hits and four runs (two earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three. Allie Hobbick stepped in the circle first for Parkston. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and six runs (five earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking six. Lydia Yost threw three innings of zero-run ball for Wagner Varsity Red Raiders in relief. The reliever allowed one hit, striking out three and walking two.

Ravyn Medricky and Lydia Yost each collected two hits for Wagner Varsity Red Raiders. Aubrey Kazena, Shania Perdue, Ravyn Medricky, Lydia Yost, and Mary Virginia Ashes each drove in one run for Wagner Varsity Red Raiders. Brylie Link paced Wagner Varsity Red Raiders with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game.

Alexis Holzbauer led Parkston with four hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Claire Anderson led Parkston with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing five walks for the game. Alexis Holzbauer stole three bases. Parkston turned one double play in the game.
