The Wagner Red Raiders home opener ends in a win. The Red Raiders welcomed in last years 11B state champions the Hot Springs Bison. Raiders were able to out pace them with a final score of 270. Leading the way was junior QB Gannon Knebel with 225 rushing yards and 2 rushing Touch downs. Knebel also pitched in 80 yards passing on the night with a 15 yard passing touchdown to junior receiver Shea Kjeldgaard. Other notable offense contributors include Sophmore RB Javian Pesicka who is credited for 70 yards rushing and one touchdown. Hunter Lhotak with 40 yards receiving. Carlos Galindo with 38 yards receiving.
The Red Raiders offensive line paved the roads for a 300 yard rushing day. This group up front includes Guards Parker Petry and Brayden Kreber. Tackles Kobe Drapeau and Bennett Kuhlman. Holding down the middle at center is Trasin Dilts.
Defensively the Red Raiders were stout. The first team defense has only allowed 24 points on the season thus far. All of those points coming from our loss to number 1 ranked Winner last Friday. On the night Slaten Podzimek provided 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 passes defensed. Parker Petry with 1.5 sack. Brayden Kreber with 1.5 sacks. Next football game is at home this coming Friday vs Mount Vernon. This will be our homecoming game. Go Big Red!
