Glen Weston
Parents: Godwin Weston and Juanita St. Pierre
Glen Weston is one of this week's senior spotlights. During his time at WHS, Glen participated in football for four years, basketball for two years, and baseball for one year.
After graduation, Glen plans to serve his country by joining the Military or National Guard. He credits his oldest sister as the person he admires most, saying, “She helps me with everything.”
Glen’s advice to underclassmen is simple but solid: “Pay attention.” His favorite class? Study hall. His favorite teacher? Mrs. Ishmael. And his favorite high school memory? The legendary walking tacos. Just don’t talk too loud around him—that’s his biggest pet peeve!
Treyson Zephier
Parent: Nicole Zephier
Another one of this week's senior spotlights is Treyson Zephier. Throughout his high school career, Treyson has been involved in basketball for two years, track for one year, and school play for one year. Whether he was scoring on the court or sprinting on the track, Treyson brought his unique energy and presence to everything he did.
After graduation, he plans to head to college. His favorite quote—' And it is what it is, that's just how it goes,' by J.E. Lawrence— perfectly sums up his relaxed and realistic view on life.
Treyson’s favorite teacher is Jenny Zephier, and his favorite class is math. And while he’s easygoing in most situations, he does have one very specific pet peeve—“ when fish jump out of the water.”
Lydia Yost
Parents: Matt and Amy Yost
Lydia Yost is the last of this week’s senior spotlights. She has been actively involved in basketball (5 years), chorus (4 years), cross country (2 years), journalism/yearbook (4 years), National Honor Society (2 years), play (2 years), softball (3 years), stats/ video (2 years), track (2 years), HOSA (4 years), and volleyball (2 years). From making it to the state basketball tournament with her sister to performing at All-State Chorus, Lydia’s time at WHS has been filled with unforgettable experiences.
Lydia draws her biggest inspiration from her sister, whom she admires for her intelligence, strength, and tireless work ethic. “She always gives 110% in everything she does, and it’s paid off,” Lydia says proudly. “She’s having a very successful career at Dakota Wesleyan University playing basketball and being her amazing, strong self.”
After graduation, Lydia plans to attend Black Hills State University, where she’ll join the ROTC Army program and major in Mass Communications and Media. Her favorite quote, 'Our stories and struggles are different, but we all deserve to bloom,' by Rithvik Singh, reflects her outlook on life and her journey ahead.
Lydia's advice for underclassmen? 'Just be yourself and you will find your people.' Wise words from someone who has truly made the most of her high school years. Her favorite teachers—Mr. Papousek, Mr. Kirwan, and Mrs. Ishmael—have helped shape that experience, along with countless memories and a few pet peeves, like people popping their knuckles.
Lydia Yost leaves WHS with a legacy of involvement, integrity, and inspiration—ready to take on what comes next.
