Frank Soukup
One of this week’s WCS senior spotlights features Frank Soukup. Frank is the son of Kim and Lynn Soukup. During his high school years at Wagner Community School, Frank has been involved in several extra-curricular activities including band (four years), baseball (four years), basketball (four years) and football (one year). Social studies/history is his favorite class and Keely Brunsing is his favorite teacher.
Frank’s advice to underclassmen is “Cherish the memories/time you have in HS because if you blink you could miss it.” His best high school memories are the state basketball trips with the boys.
Frank most admires his brother. He looks up to him because his brother was in the same boat that Frank is. In high school, he was called too small or not good enough, but he went to college and proved everyone wrong by playing the sport that he loved and being very good at it.
Frank’s favorite quote comes from Master Yoda of Star Wars, “The greatest teacher, failure is.”
Macee Stimpson
Another one of this week’s highlighted WCS seniors is Macee Stimpson. Macee is the daughter of Ranae and David Stimpson. Macee has been very active during her high school years at Wagner Community School being involved in band (three years), chorus (four years), journalism (four years), Oral Interp (four years), the school play (four years), boys basketball stats (two years), Student Council (one year) and track (four years). English is her favorite class and Mrs. Brunsing is her favorite teacher.
Macee’s advice to underclassmen would be “I would tell them to study more, to be nice to other underclassmen that come up or just ignore them.” Having fun with her friends is her best high school memory. Slow walkers are Macee’s biggest pet peeve. If Macee could be anyone in the world, she would want to be Martin Luther King Jr. because he stood in front of everyone and gave a speech, which had to be hard to do.
The person that Macee admires the most and looks up to is her older sister, Caitlyn. Her favorite quote is by Rosa Parks, “Each person must live their life as a model for others.” After graduation, Macee plans to attend Mitchell Technical College or Southeast Technical College to be trained as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
