April Hollingsworth
One of this week’s WCS seniors featured in this week’s senior spotlights is April Hollingsworth. April is the daughter of Melissa Ulmer. During her years at WCS, April has been active in extracurricular activities including band (two years), football (as the videographer for two years), JAG (four years), school play (one year), NHS (two years), statistician (four years), Student Council (four years), track (one year), Quiz Bowl (one year) and HOSA (four years).
April’s advice to underclassmen would be, “Use your time wisely.” April’s favorite memory from high school was during health class freshman year when Mr. Kuca raced against some classmates and beat all of them in his business casual attire and dress shoes. Mrs. Petrik is her favorite teacher and April’s favorite class is JAG.
The people that April admires most are her grandmother, Bev, and her mother, Melissa. Her grandmother because she is very resilient and sweet; her mother because April considers her mother her bestfriend. As April’s time walking the halls of WCS comes to an end, she leaves her favorite quote by Kamala Harris behind, “What I want young women and girls to know is: You are powerful and your voice matters.” After graduation, April plans to attend a four-year university and choose a major in healthcare.
Curtis Hare
Another WCS senior spotlight of the week features Curtis Hare. Curtis is the son of Brandi Belgarde and Wesley Hare. Curtis also goes by the nickname Curt.
Curtis’s favorite class is study hall and favorite teacher is Mrs. Jenny Zephier. His advice to underclassmen would be to “Never put off what can be done today.” His best high school memory was falling asleep and not being woken up by a teacher.
The person that Curtis most admires is his sister because she is helping him with his savings. As Curtis’ time walking the halls of Wagner dwindles down, he leaves these words in his wake, “Opportunity does not knock; it presents itself when you beat down the door.” After graduation Curtis plans to find a job to work at until a better opportunity arises.
Max Greger
One of this week’s WCS senior spotlights features Max Greger. Max is the son of Quentin Greger. Max’s favorite class is culinary. His advice to underclassmen would be to “just stay on top of work and you will be fine.” Max’s best memory from high school would be leaving for summer break each year. The people that Max admires the most in his life are his father, Quentin, and his best friends Raymond, Curtis and Highrock. After graduation, Max plans to attend a trade school for welding.
As Max’s time walking the halls of WCS come to an end, he leaves this as his favorite quote by Forrest Griffin, “Control all the variables you can…don’t worry about the rest.”
Gabriel Houseman
Another of this week’s WCS seniors featured in the senior spotlight is Gabriel Houseman. Gabriel is the son of Darius Honomichl. He also goes by the nickname Gabe. During his years in high school at WCS, Gabriel has participated in basketball (two years), chorus (three years), football (one year) and track (three years). His favorite teachers are Ms. Lease and Mrs. Ishmael while his favorite class is Health.
Gabriel’s advice to underclassmen is to “Live your life without fear of being ‘weird’ or messing up. Just be yourself no matter what.” His best memory of high school came from his freshman year when he and Kahle Hill brought a turtle into Mr. Kuca’s classroom.
The person that Gabriel admires most in his life is his grandpa because he has worked hard to set Gabriel’s family up in a way that has made their lives enjoyable. His favorite quote is from Future, “I feel like I’m one of none.” After graduation, Gabriel plans to go to college to become a physical therapist and after he graduates from that make his life in a big city.
Isabella Hull
The final WCS senior featured in this week’s senior spotlight is Isabella Hull. Isabella is the daughter of Jayette Palmier and Reynold Little. She goes by the nicknames Bella and Bell. During her high school years at WCS, Isabella has been active in several extracurricular activities including the school play (two years), Student Council (one year) and Art Club (one year). Her favorite teacher is Mrs. Megan Sheppard and favorite class is Art class with Adele.
Isabella’s advice for underclassmen is “Please do your work, even if it is late work!” Over the years her fondest memories were being with her friends and making new memories every day.
The person that Isabella admires most would be her grandmother. Her grandmother never judges her wrongdoings and praises her achievements. She is the glue that holds the family together and she works tirelessly every day to provide for her family. Her favorite quote comes from Michael Jackson who said, “If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with.” After graduation, Isabella plans to attend a four-year university where she will major in Art and minor in Business.
