The Wagner JV played Chamberlain Friday night in Wagner. The boys fell behind 8-05 after the first period and trailed 22-14 at the half/ Points were hard to come by for Wagner in the second half. They lost the game 42-23. Colton Zephier, Leon Fields and Payne Petry all scored 6 points for Wagner. AJ Kotab scored 3 and Gannon Shields scored 2. Wagner will take on Gregory Tuesday night at home.
WAGNER HOLDS OFF CHAMBERLAIN
The Wagner boys basketball team took on SESD Conference foe the Chamberlain Cubs Friday night at home. Wagner took an eight-point lead into the half time and led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter. Chamberlain shot the ball well in the fourth quarter and made things interesting late but the Raiders made free throws down the stretch and won the game 61-51. Parker Petry scored a game high 19 points and had 9 rebounds. Preston McFayden scored 11 points and had 4 assists, Brady Cournoyer scored 10 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and had 4 blocked shots. Carlos Galindo scored 10 points, had 8 assists and 6 steals, Jesse Zephier scored 7 points, KY Arpan scored 4 points and had 3 assists. Wagner improves their record to 10-7, they play Gregory Tuesday night at home.

The Wagner JV took on Gregroy Tuesday night in Wagner. The boys trailed 8-7 after the first period, they played great defense in the second and third quarters holding Gregory to 7 total points until the 4th period. Wagner led 25-15 heading into the final quarter, the Raiders held off a late charge from Gregory to win the game 29-25. Gannon Shields and Leon Fields led the way for Wagner with 7 points each. Colton Zephier scored 5 points, Avery Medicine Bear and Payne Petry each scored 4 points for Wagner The JV team will be back in action Friday night in Platte
WAGNER TAKES ON GREGORY
The Wagner varsity boys basketball team took on Gregory Tuesday night. Gregory came into the game with a 16-2 record. Wagner fell behind early 20-10 after the first period. Brady Cournoyer, Wagner’s 6’6 starting center sprained his ankle on the final play of the quarter and would not be able to return to the game. The boys fought hard to stay in the game in the second and third periods. The boys made some big shots in the fourth quarter and at one point trailed by 1 with under 4 minutes left. That was as close as they would get as Gregory made free throws late and won the game 61-55. Parker Petry led the team with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Carlos Galindo added 12 points, had 6 assists and 4 rebounds. Preston McFayden scored 9 points and had 4 rebounds, Ky Arpan scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds, Jesse Zephier scored 5 points, had 6 rebounds and 4 assists, Brady Cournoyer scored 4 points, had 2 rebounds and 2 blocked shots in his 1 quarter of action. Wagner will play Platte-Geddes for their final road game of the year on Friday night.
