Macy Voigt struck out 11 batters as the starter led Avon past Winner 5-1 on Saturday. Voigt allowed one hit and one run over five innings while walking five. The Pirates got on the board in the first inning after Rilyn Thury homered to center field, scoring two runs. They extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Pria Sessler and Voigt.

Thury went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Voigt, Thury, Jordyn Voigt, Kaeli Wallinga, and Sessler each collected one hit for Avon.
