Wagner hosted its middle school track meet this past Monday, May 5. We have approximately 70 kids out in grades 6-8. It’s nice that that many young kids out for track and field. Hopefully they are enjoying the experience and will continue with it as they mature.

LMVC Track Meet 5/6
On Tuesday, May 6, Wagner hosted the LMVC track meet with a total of six teams participating. Andes Central/ Dakota Christian, Avon, Bon Homme, Scotland/Menno, Tripp-Delmont/Armour, and Wagner. Both Wagner’s girls and boys would come away with the conference title.
Ashlyn Koupal won the high jump with a leap of 5’3”. Addi Cuka won the 100 meter dash in a time of 13.63. Kendra Van Duysen was the first place finisher in the 100 hurdles as she ran an 18.28. The rest of the girls placers were as follows:

First Dakota Relays 5/8
On Thursday, May 8, Wagner traveled to Yankton to participate in the First Dakota Relays. This was a challenging meet for us as there were some AA schools and top-end A schools competing.
BOYS:
Shea Kjeldgaard got off the schneid as he competed well and won the high jump by reaching a height of 5’ 11”.
Our boys 400 relay team consisting of Javian Pesicka, Shea Kjeldgaard, Jackson Rolston, and Beau Otte placed 5th. Their time was 46.43 Pesicka placed 5th in the long jump as he sailed to a distance of 19’ 9”. Brayden Kreber placed 8th in that same event as he went 18’ 11 ½”.
In the triple jump, Jesse Zephier leapt 39’ 8” to claim the
6th place in that event.
GIRLS:
For the girls, Ashlyn Koupal won the high jump, as she is wont to do, by clearing 5’ 5”. Ashlyn also placed in the shot put, throwing the ball 34’ 1 ½” to earn 4th place.
The 400 meter relay team consisting of Brianna Fuchs, Adara Hopkins, Roper Lhotak, and Addi Cuka earned 6th place running a time of 54.58.
