The Thunderhawks traveled to Corsica last Friday night, September 6th with the Thunderhawks’ dominating the Jaguars to come away with a 46-12 victory. The Corsica/Stickney Jaguars were rated #3 in class 9B football before the game.
Hunter Loeff ler led the team in rushing with 148 rush yards, 61 pass yards, 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 pass touchdown. Right behind Loeffler was teammate, Sabas DeHaan with 26 rushing yards, 54 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown. Garth Maas and Isaac Wunder also put some rushing yards on the board for the team. Maas had 41 rushing yards, 15 receiving yards and 2 rushing touchdowns; Wunder ended the night with 46 rushing yards, three passing yards and 1 rushing touchdown.
On the defensive end for the Thunderhawks, Riley Spaans led the way with 7.5 tackles, 1 tackle for loss (tfl) and 1 sack. Loeffler was just as tough on defense as he was offense with 3.5 tackles, 1.5 tackle for loss, and one interception. Loeffler was followed by teammate, Ty Archambeau who had three tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack. Dalton Westendorf and AJ Johnson both stepped up for the Thunderhawks with 2.5 tackles, .5 tackles for loss and 1 sack and were followed by Garth Maas with 4 tackles and 1 tackle for loss.
The Jaguars ended the game with a total of 95 rush yards, 35 passing yards and 2 touchdowns in comparison to the Thunderhawk’s 261 rushing yards, 76 passing yards and 6 touchdowns.
